The Catholic Church, commonly known as the Roman Catholic Church, is the largest single homogeneous religious group in the word, members of which are known as Catholics and who adhere to the faith of Catholicism. The Church is the largest and the oldest denomination of the Christian faith - as a denomination of Christianity it shares the common Christian concepts of the birth, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ but differs on a number of other theological and religious fundamentals. Specifically, Catholicism is distinguished by it's interpretation (and translation) of the Holy Bible, rules of daily life, size, age and adherence to a central leader known as the Pope. Catholics assert that the Pope is the successor to Saint Peter, one of the Disciples of Christ, who they believe established the Church at Jesus' command
